We all know Thanksgiving is a time to be grateful for your family, friends, and of course good food, but let’s not forget our manners on this holiday. Check out our golden rules & tips for Turkey Day to ensure the day goes smoothly and everyone will be invited back next year!

Mix it up: Family is everything, but having a few non-family members present helps keeps everyone well-behaved and avoiding family feuds from decades past. We all know how Uncle Pete and Uncle Tom get after a few glasses of red!

Don’t Do it All: It’s ok to ask for help–these people are your friends and family after all. As long as you cook your turkey and a couple of sides, feel free to ask people to bring small dishes like pie or even a few bottles of wine.

Family Style: Don’t want to play chef and server? Understandable. Create a buffet table and call everyone, including yourself, to dinner at the same time! This way you can be a guest at your own party after the turkey is done.

Pre-Made Predicament: Is it acceptable to buy some dishes pre-made? Why not?! We suggest you at least cook your own turkey, but feel free to pop down to your local deli or specialty store for sides like brussels sprouts and stuffing. Don’t forget to call ahead and put in an order. You will NOT be the only one looking for last-minute Turkey Day dishes.

As always, an unforgettable lady calls for an unforgettable birthday celebration! The stylist’s lucky mother was the guest of honor at this blush beauty of a garden party where classic and elegant mingled with art deco. You can’t go wrong when you combine fabulous La Tavola linens, and stunning calligraphy with LOTS of hand-made sweets. It’s ALL about the details at this feminine celebration. Lucky for us Tiffany Amber Photography was in attendance to capture every stunning shot! Follow along for intimate moments as told by stylist and daughter, Jacqui Marino of Deets & Things.

From the designer: "Since most of her grandchildren have late summer birthdays, by the time my mother’s birthday came around each fall, she always urged us not to make a big fuss. This year, however, with my brother and his family in town from the East Coast, we were determined to give her a worthy celebration."

"I fell in love with La Tavola's blush velvet collection and built the color palette of the celebration around it, mixing in buttery blush and muted hues. Cherished Rentals Terrain dinner collection paired with their vintage floral china to give the table a feminine and dainty feel. Each setting had a calligraphy leather menu and glass tile place card s that I painted and gold leafed."

"Playing with dessert ideas was my favorite part of designing this party. Sweetlee Made and her team did an exquisite job executing the vision from their gorgeous floral cakes to the prettiest array of donuts. When An Actress Weds A Casting Director In Palm Springs, It’s Bound To Be A Blast!

Katie Leclerc and Brian Habecost met on a movie set and sparks flew! When filming came to end, Katie flew back to her home in Texas and Brian stayed in LA. While they were apart, they spoke every single day until four months later when Katie made the exciting jump to move to the the city of Angels. And if that wasn’t cute enough – fast forward three-and-a-half years later and Brian is ready to pop the question (in movie-worthy style, of course!) “He had decorated the entire house,” Katie recalls. “And since we’d just moved in, there was no furniture, just these reminders of us. Flowers lined the hallway to the living room, where there was a huge banner that read, ‘Katie will you marry me?’ When I saw it, he got down on one knee.” The Hollywood couple and their 140 guests brought their nuptials to Palm Springs for a destination wedding at one of our all-time favorite venues – Colony 29.
